WHAT IS A DOMAIN NAME?
A domain name is a name like "yourname.com"
which, for most people, is the address of a web site, such as "www.yourname.com".
Usually, if you want to set up your own
web site, the first step is to pay a small annual fee to register a domain name. The domain name can then be
"pointed" at a web server (a computer connected to the World Wide Web) which contains the web pages that you want in
your web site. Whenever visitors type that web address into their browser's address bar, they will be taken to your web site.
For example, if you type "cheapdomainsweb.com" into your browser's address bar, you'll be
taken to the Home Page of this web site.
WHAT IS DOMAIN NAME PARKING?
As we mentioned above, registering a domain name is only the first
step in creating your web site. If you are starting a new web site, you probably don't have
anywhere to point the domain name yet.
Domain Name Parking simply means your domain
name is reserved for you, so it's protected and nobody else can register it. This gives you time to choose a web host and
create and upload your web pages. You can put up a temporary Parked Page if you wish while you complete these other steps.
Other reasons to park domain names include:

to reserve them until you decide.
